Trip to Montana

Rob fished. We slept in a teepee, photographed the wild Pryor Ponies and visited Marvel's homestead and log house in Deadman's Canyon, now Bighorn National Recreation Area. Good times!

  1. Not just a teepee, but a teepee out on the range! I can envision "Dances with Wolves" being filmed there. And Rob that is one good looking trout!!

  3. Do it! This tipi was on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation, east of Glacier National Park, Lodgepole Gallery and Tipi Village. We also stayed in a "Deluxe" tipi on the west side of the park - queen size bed, etc. But the one on the reservation was truly out on the range and felt like the real deal. We rented sleeping bags (with sheet liner) and mats. They provided the wood for the fire.

My parents and my grandmother once taught school on the Crow Indian Reservation, so this was on my "Bucket List." Do it!

Airports include Glacier International Airport in Kalispell, Montana, Great Falls International Airport in Great Falls, Montana and Calgary International Airport in Alberta, Canada.
